author guidelines

JOVIIM provides comprehensive author guidelines to assist contributors in preparing their manuscripts before submission. Submitted manuscripts must go through the Online Submission System after registering as an Author in the "Register" section. The online submission procedure can be found at the end of this guide. Authors are required to use the manuscript template provided by JOVIIM.

The main aspects of this guideline include:

  1. Manuscript Structure:
  • Title and Abstract: Begin your manuscript with a concise title and an abstract of 200–300 words summarizing the background, problem statement, state of the art or gap analysis, research objectives, research methods, research results, and conclusions.
  • Keywords: Provide up to five (5) keywords below the abstract to facilitate indexing and searching.
  • Main Text: Organize the manuscript content into clear sections, typically including Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, and Conclusion (IMRAD).
  1. Authorship and Affiliations:
  • Author Details: Clearly state the name of each author (without academic titles) along with their affiliations. Write the authors’ affiliation addresses below their names, including the study program, institution, and institution address.
  • Provide the email address of the corresponding author. A phone number may also be included. Mark the corresponding author with an asterisk (*).
  • Authorship Criteria: Ensure that all listed authors have made significant contributions to the design, execution, or interpretation of the research. Avoid including individuals who do not meet these criteria.
  1. Ethical Considerations:
  • Research Ethics: For studies involving human subjects, human materials, or human data, ensure that the research complies with the Declaration of Helsinki. Include a statement of ethical approval, specifying the ethics committee name and reference number. Protect the confidentiality of research subjects’ identities wherever possible.
  1. References:
  • Citation Style: se the IEEE reference style. In IEEE format, citations are indicated by numbers in square brackets [ ] in the order they first appear in the text, not alphabetically. When a reference is cited again, use the same number without change. For example: “The Taguchi method has been widely applied in manufacturing process optimization [3].”
  • Reference List: In the reference list, present all references according to their citation numbers in the text and format them using the standard IEEE style. The format includes the citation number, author’s name (initials first, followed by surname), article or book title in quotation marks, journal or publisher name, volume, number, pages, and year of publication. Example: “[3] R. K. Roy, A Primer on the Taguchi Method, 2nd ed. New York: Society of Manufacturing Engineers, 1990.”
  1. Submission Process:
  • Online Submission: Submit your manuscript online through the journal’s system. Ensure all required metadata, including the abstract, keywords, and author details, are completed during submission.
  • File Format: Prepare your manuscript in Word format (.doc or .docx) following the journal’s template to maintain consistency.
  1. Additional Guidelines:
  • Figures and Tables: Ensure all figures and tables are of high quality, properly labeled, and cited in the text. Include captions and legends where necessary for clarity.
  • Supplementary Materials: If relevant, include supplementary materials such as datasets or multimedia files. Provide clear references to these materials within the manuscript.
  • Cover Letter: Prepare a cover letter addressed to the editor-in-chief, including a brief introduction to your manuscript, an explanation of its significance, and confirmation that it has not been published or is under consideration elsewhere. (For submissions from outside Politeknik ATMI.)

By adhering to these guidelines, the review and publication process will proceed smoothly. For more detailed and updated instructions, please refer to JOVIIM.
