Peer Review Process

Articles submitted to JOVIIM undergo two stages of review: pre-review and substantive review.

Pre-review of the article is carried out by the editorial team to see if the article fits the focus and scope of the journal as well as the style and specific guidelines for writing JOVIIM. Checking for elements of plagiarism is done through a search on Google Scholar and Turnitin. The length of time for pre-review is between 1-4 weeks.

Substance reviews are carried out by at least 2 review partners in a double-blind manner. The length of time for review is between 3-8 weeks. If desired, the reviewer can request a re-review after the author has revised the article.

The final decision to accept an article for publication in JOVIIM rests with the Editor-in-Chief, based on the reviewers’ recommendations. Accepted articles that have completed layout editing will be published as In-Progress Articles in the upcoming issue prior to the scheduled regular issue, allowing them to be indexed and cited promptly.
