Publications Ethics and Malpractice Statements

JOVIIM is a peer-reviewed journal published by Politeknik ATMI Surakarta. This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in publishing an article in this journal, including authors, the editor-in-chief, the Editorial Board, peer reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on COPE’s Best Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Ethical Guideline for Journal Publication

The publication of articles in a peer-reviewed journal like JOVIIM is a critical foundation in the development of a coherent and respected network of knowledge. It directly reflects the quality of the authors’ work and the institutions that support them. Peer-reviewed articles uphold and embody the scientific method. Therefore, it is important to agree on expected standards of ethical behavior for all parties involved in publishing: authors, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishers, and society.

Politeknik ATMI Surakarta, as the publisher of JOVIIM, takes its duties of guardianship over all stages of publishing seriously and recognizes its ethical and other responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that advertising, reprints, or other commercial revenue do not influence editorial decisions. Additionally, Politeknik ATMI Surakarta, together with the Editorial Board, will assist in communications with other journals and/or publishers where such is useful and necessary.

Publication Decisions

The editor of JOVIIM is responsible for deciding which articles should be published. Validation of the work and its importance to researchers and readers must always drive these decisions. Editors may be guided by the policies of the journal’s editorial board and constrained by legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism. Editors may consult with other editors or reviewers in making final decisions.

Fair Play

Editors evaluate manuscripts based on their intellectual content without regard to the authors’ race, gender, sexual orientation, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.

Confidentiality

Editors and editorial staff must not disclose any information about a submitted manuscript to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, potential reviewers, other editorial advisers, and the publisher, as appropriate.

Disclosure and Conflicts of Interest

Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in an editor’s own research without the express written consent of the author.
